If you’ve been following our journey here at the GG Club, you know that I am absolutely obsessed with the formulation side of our business. I’ve spent the last couple of years working with green science, and if there is one thing I have learned, it’s that nature always does it best.
Lately, Evie and I have been talking a lot about our GG Room Diffusers, and the response from you all has been nothing short of magical. But today, I want to take you behind the scenes of our scent lab to talk about what actually goes into those bottles and why the quality of these room fragrances matter so much more than people realise.
When you walk into a beautiful room, the scent is the very first thing that greets you. It sets the mood, calms the mind, and creates an atmosphere of luxury. But if that scent is coming from a cheap, synthetic bottle, it is doing far more harm than good.
The Synthetic Trap: Why Most Fragrances Give You a Headache
If you look around the market today, the sad reality is that the vast majority of room diffusers, candles, and home fragrances are made using synthetic, factory-produced chemical compounds.
They are cheap to manufacture, which is why big commercial brands love them. But they come with a heavy price for your health. Have you ever walked into a space and immediately felt a dull ache behind your eyes, a tickle in your throat, or a wave of sinus irritation?
That is your body reacting to synthetic fragrances. These artificial scents are packed with chemicals that frequently trigger nasty allergies, aggravate asthma, and disrupt your air quality. Because they are synthetic, they also lack molecular depth. They might smell intensely strong for the first five minutes, but they burn out quickly, leaving behind a stale, flat chemical residue.
We completely refused to put our name on anything like that.
Sourced Direct From the Distillers
When Evie and I decided to create the GG Diffuser range, I knew we had to go straight to the source. We needed essential oils of such uncompromising purity that they didn't just smell beautiful they had to be completely safe and hypoallergenic for every home, salon, spa, and studio.
Finding oils of this caliber takes enormous care and patience. I have literally sat on video links with our distillers, walking through overseas plantations, learning about the harvesting, the soil, and the entire extraction process from the ground up.
When you experience essential oils that are grown and distilled with that level of respect, it ruins you for everything else. Most people are used to very ordinary, watered-down essential oils. Ours are rich, vibrant, fresh, and completely complex. Some of our blends are so delicious they almost make you salivate!
We mix these raw, extraordinary oils in small, precise batches right here in Brisbane. Because they are 100% pure, they don't just mask the air they blend beautifully into the environment, throwing a continuous, elegant fragrance that lasts significantly longer than any synthetic alternative.
For us, scent creation is a true art form. It’s about creating a safe, toxin-free sanctuary where you can take a deep breath and feel instantly relaxed, knowing that what you are inhaling is clean, natural, and kind to your body.
